August 12, 2013

Ok so this week was very very tiring. We went on divisons with the other sisters but we went pretty far!!!!!!!! It was fun though because I actually got to go with one of my best friends, Hermana Escorcia. We have a bunch of pictures together that I have sent, like us at the zoo and everything. But then she got changed and I was sad but it was so great to see her again! We had fun and worked hard, we placed a baptisimal date and it was so great. Then on Thursday I actually got to work with Hermana Frodsham so that was fun. She is doing so good so let her mom know that she really is progressing and that she will be just fine. It was great to see her. You will have to invite her mom to my talk when I get back. I saw a picture of her family and they are really cute.

Well then on Friday we had district meeting just like normal and afterward I got a call for the assistant to the President and he said, hey tomorrow you and your companion are invited to a lunch with President and his wife... also with Elder Ochoa from the Seventy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So then on Saturday we went to Presidents house with the other 2 sister leaders and we were able to spend 2 hours with Elder Ochoa. It was so amazing, he talked about our authority as missionaries and I don't think I have ever felt the spirit so strong in my entire life. He really is a man of God. It was crazy. I learned a lot from him and took a lot of notes so I will share more when I see you all. He helped us to be better leaders and also he talked a LOT about faith. I was so nervous when I first got there, he like looked deep down into my soul and I was like oh no I hope he sees something real good in there. hahahahaha.

This week we had a lot more success, we found 3 new families and we are trying to find more. I am glad that Chantelles baby shower went well and also I got a letter from Sarah Hiatt and she is engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited for her. Sarah you cannot get married without me there, do you hear?!?!?!? Wait just a bit for me please. Well that is about all for you this week. I am still loving it. oh another thing that Elder Ochoa said is that we are going to cry when we have to take off our badge. I started crying right when he said that. I am so sad for that day. But it will all be great! Anyways have a great week and know how much I LOVE YOU ALL! cambio afuera. (over and out) Love, Hermana Parker

August 5, 2013

Well this week was great! We had a lot of great spiritual experiences. So on Wednesday we were able to go to Granada and do divisions with the sisters that are there. It was a lot of fun and we were able to help them feel a little bit more sure of themselves. They are working hard and we love them. We went with a family while we were there and we taught them for like a good hour and 15 minutes. They were really interested. We were able to set a baptisimal date with them. It was a great experience, the only thing is, I will never teach them again, too bad it was not my area right? But that is ok because as long as people are finding Christ that is ok with me :) ok so then on Friday night we met a family in our area and were able to teach them in their house. It was SO AMAZING! Seriously we felt the spirit soooo strong. After we left we were both so weak because we were spiritually drained. It was amazing. The spirit was definitely there in the lesson and we invited them to be baptized but they kept saying no, but then at the end they accepted and they were like yes, we need to do this. The guy works every other Sunday so we won't have their baptism until September or even October. I may not be here but I am so happy to see their desires to change. Yesterday, Sunday, we went to church and I was a little bit discouraged again because we haven't been having a lot of success, but then during testimony meeting a man named Juan, who is actually a man who we reactivated, him and his wife, and so he got up and bore his testimony for the first time in his 2 years of being a member. It was POWERFUL and I was sooooo happy. Then I thought, well, maybe we aren't having baptisms right now but look who we were able to help. And now him and his family are going to the temple this month for the first time and his wife and him are going to be sealed for time and all eternity. Then after church he came up to us and with the biggest smile I have ever seen said, I just barely received the Melchizedek Priesthood. I was soooooo happy for him. He was smiling so big all day long. We eat lunch at their house everyday and we are trying to help them a lot. In fact, the other week when we went to the Distribution center I bought them a poster of the temple to put up in their house. He will be a great leader someday.

Well, mom and dad, this week we had interviews and President gave me a special assignment, he told me that I have to have each of my parents send me a seperate email that you two would say about me if you were to brag about me. He said I then will print each letter off and tuck it into my scriptures. It was a cute idea, so if you could do that so that I can print it off next week I would love that. ALSO, I GOT A PACKAGE! It was the cutest bit of Yellerrrstone I ever did see. Thanks soooo much. I loved it, and so did my companion. THANKS soooo much. Also all the cute letters from the relatives were so great too. Thanks sooooooooooooooooo much. I was soooo happy. Today we went to a club because that same family I was just talking about, their son, who is like 30 but not a member teaches tennis lessons there in the club and so we invited our district and we all went over there and had a bbq and we played some tennis and we even took a class from him. He didn't charge us very much and it was super fun. I LOVED it. I hadn't played tennis forever. I got really winded super fast. Well, my email is super long but I had a lot to say. Hope you enjoy it. I love you all. Love Hermana Parker

I am trying out my companions fan right here

My new comp...Hermana Puyol from Argentina and I

This is us at changes...my old comp Hermana Flores, my new comp Hermana Puyol, me and then Hermana Flores new comp which is Hermana Puyols old comp hahahaha

Ok, so just because I put my slooow week doesn't mean it was that bad. hahaha. Last Saturday my companion was suffering with heart problems. I didn't think it was that big of a deal until Tuesday when she told me that she still was having the pain and that she had problems before. So then we were at a meeting with all the zone leaders and President and his wife. Half way through the meeting I went and talked to the Presidents wife about my companion. Then we called the nurse and she sent us right home. She said she should be resting and doing nothing else. So it has been beating super super fast and it is giving her pains in her chest, back, head, and left arm. It makes her really light headed and winded really fast. So we went home to have her rest. Then on Thursday morning we were studying and I heard her start crying. So I got her back into her bed and called the nurse. The nurse got her a doctor appointment for Thursday night so that night we went to the hospital. Well the hospital was really nice and rich so it had air conditioning. I was sitting in cold air for 3 hours and when we left it was MY turn and I got sick too!!!!! AHHHHHH. it always happens with AC. But anyways we went home and we went to an appointment and when I got home to get into bed I started shaking. So then I put a blanket on and some sweats and socks and a sweater and I was still shaking I was soooo cold. Then my comp went and got all her blankets and coats and put them on me and I was freezing still. So that wasn't fun. I had a REALLY high fever and that lasted until yesterday. I feel better now but I didn't have an appetite or anything for 3 days. Anyways. I am so glad that that is over. We have had to go back to the hospital 2 times and today she is wearing a monitor, we will go back in the morning to figure out all the results and find out what the doctor has to say. We haven't been able to fully work this whole week. But all of the Elders have been really nice about everything and President and his wife and the nurse and the members that we live next to have treated us really good. Like when I was sick they brought over gatorade and kept checking in on me. It was so cute. But I got to read a lot of Jesus the Christ and I have been able to write a few letters and watch just about EVERY church movie that there is. hahahaha. But don't worry, we are fine. I am feeling a LOT better. Well, we were unable to have our baptism on Saturday but we are going to hopefully have it this coming Saturday. She is ready we just need to pass by to see her. I hope that everything is going well and I am so thankful for my wonderful family. Thanks for everything!!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL! love Hermana Parker
